Hello, and meet the Threes and Nines. They are an up and coming band with a very unique sound that has had an amazing amount of positive response. Their currently unreleased album was recorded in Connecticut, at the Carriage House under the production of Gordon Gano (Violent Femmes ), as well as engineered and mixed by Phil Palazzolo (Neko case/New pornographers/Okkervil river/Roky Erikson/St Vincent ).
This year, they have showcased for Epic Records, opened for Patrick Watson at the Great American Music Hall, The largo at the coronet, and played the Bowery Ball room at the CMJ Music Festival. Additionally, the songwriter and leader of the group Jake Brebbes, is currently signed to Sony Publishing.
How did this all start? Around five years back, Jake’s songwriting was given notice when the band won the county battle of the bands, which led to recognition from a small label, which led to an opening slot for the Violent Femmes, which led to making a record with Gordon, which brings you here, now, reading these words as you listen to the Mp3’s on their site.
